Line sorter
A stable local sort: case-insensitive alphabetical, numeric for numbered lines, by length, with reversal and random shuffle.
Choosing the right sort mode
Alphabetical sort follows the page language rules and ignores case: “apple” and “Apple” sit together. Numeric sort compares the number at line start — ideal for quantities, prices or scores — and pushes numberless lines to the end. Length sort goes shortest to longest, handy for captions or titles.
Shuffle redistributes lines at random (Fisher-Yates algorithm), useful to draw a speaking order or scramble a revision list. Empty lines are ignored; text never leaves your browser.
Limits
Sorting handles accents by locale rules, not your internal preferences. Numbers mid-line are not compared in alphabetical mode: “10 apples” follows “2 apples”. To deduplicate before or after sorting, use the duplicate remover.
